Recipe for stir fried cuttlefish with mushrooms

In the world of Vietnamese seafood recipes, we need to mentions the recipes with cuttlefish – one of the favorite dishes of Vietnamese people. The stir fried cuttlefish with mushrooms, carrot and onion is a wonderful dish for you and your family to enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • Cuttlefish: 400 grams
  • ½ carrot
  • Mushrooms: 300 grams (you can use the straw mushrooms or Bunashimeji)
  • Spring onions, garlic
  • Fish sauce, sugar, salt, black pepper

How to make stir fried cuttlefish with mushrooms:

Step 1:

  • Wash the cuttlefish
  • Cut it lengthwise and drain well

Step 2:

  • Cut off the mushroom feet and wash. Slice them
  • Peel the carrot and wash. Cut into the strips
  • Peel the onion and cut into wedges
  • Wash the spring onion and finely chop

Step 3:

  • Heat 3 spoons of cooking oil in a pan and stir fry the garlic and shallot
  • Put the cuttlefish into the pan and stir fry
  • Taste for a little salt, sugar and then, transfer to a plate

Step 4:

  • Use that pan to add mushrooms, carrot to stir fry
  • Add a little water, fish sauce, black pepper and chilli powder (if you like spicy)

Step 5:

  • After stir frying the carrot and mushrooms, add the onion and cuttlefish into the pan
  • Taste for spices if needed. Stir well
  • Continue stir frying for 5 – 6 minutes. Then, add finely chopped spring onions
  • Turn off the heat and ladle onto a plate
