Three delicious pok pok wing recipes
Chicken is the familiar ingredient to cook different dishes in many families’ daily meals because it is very flavorful and nutritious. Below is three delicious recipes to make Vietnamese chicken wings that you cannot resist.
- Grilled pok pok wings with lemongrass and chilli
- 4 pok pok wings
- 2 spoons of minced lemongrass
- Chilli powder or chilli paste
- Salt, sugar, honey and oyster oil
How to make Vietnamese Chicken Wings
Wash pok pok wings and cut each wing into halve (if it is large)
Use a knife to cut some lines on the pok pok wing to marinate faster
Pour the water in a sauce and bring it to a boil. Put the pok pok wings in the sauce to submerge for 3 – 5 minutes. Next, rinse well again and drain well
Put the pok pok wings in th clean large bowl. Add chilli paste or chilli sauce, 1 spoon of honey, minced lemongrass, 2 teaspoons of salt, oyster oil and 1 teaspoon of white sugar.
Wear the plastic glove before mixing the pok pok wings and marinate overnight or for 4 -5 hours.
Place the pok pok wings into the grilled pan. When grilling, the lemongrass will be burned faster so you need to cover the pan bottom with silver paper to avoid sticking.
Use a spoon to spread the mixture of lemongrass water on the surface of pok pok wings.
Turn on the oven. Next, grill each side of pok pok wing at the temperature of 190oC for 20 – 25 mintues. Turn occasionally to make two sides evenly well-done until they turn golden brown.
Enjoy when it is still hot with cucumber, tomato and hot steamed rice.
Fried pok pok wings with fish sauce
2 pok pok wings
2 spoons of sugar
2 spoons of fish sauce
How to make
Rinse the pok pok wings and drain well. Then, cut them into the medium pieces.
Arrange the pok pok wings in the grilled pan and put it in the oven to grill for 1 minute, helping save time of frying and the wings gradually well-done from the inside
Deep fry the chicken wings at the high heat until they turn golden brown. If you skip the above step, you should deep fry the wings at the medium heat.
While waiting, add 2 spoons of sugar, 2 spoons of fish sauce and 1 spoon of water into a pan
Put the pan on the gas stove and turn the heat to low to melt sugar completely
When chicken wings are well-done, pick them out to the spice pan
Turn the heat to high and shake the pan consistenly to help the pok pok wings get well-mariniated. Until the sugar starts to be gelatinous and turn the gowlden yellow, turn off the heat.
Fried Vietnamese chicken wings with salt
10 Vietnamese chicken wings
Finely chopped lime leaves and spring onion
½ teaspoon of salt, 4 garlic cloves
3 spoons of brad crumbs
100 grams of corn starch
½ teaspoon of black pepper
How to make
Rinse the Vietnamese chicken wings with salt water and then, wash under the running cold water and drain well
- Put the corn starch in the nylon bag with a little salt and black pepper and stir well. Afterthat, put the chicken wings into the bad and mix well
Put the oil pan on the gas stove. When the oil is quite hot, put the Vietnamese chicken wings into the pan to fry
When the pok pok wings turn golden brown, pick them to the oil absorbing paper on the plate. Next, put lemongrass and lime leaves in the pan to fry and transfer to the plate
Put other pan on the gas stove. Add 1 spoon of cooking oil. When the oil is hot, put garlic, spring onion and chilli to stir fry. Next, add bread crumbs, salt and black pepper to stir fry for 4 – 5 minutes. When the bread crumbs turn yellow, put all pok pok wings, lemongrass and lime leaves into the pan to stir fry well.
Transfer the Vietnamese chicken wings to the plate. Decorate the fried lemongrass and lime leaves on the top. This dish is accompanied with hot steamed rice.
